ACCOMMODATION AND PRICING
Accommodation is in luxury twin rooms sharing with one other with en-suite bathrooms and A/C. The cost for the week is £695 per person, which includes accommodation, all yoga workshops and food, however transport and optional extras such as massages are extra.
The retreat centre is set in 2.5 acres of grounds in a beautiful, peaceful valley with olive and almond groves. The owneers are renovating all rooms to a high standard using locally sourced materials, and are aiming to create a luxurious yet simple and understated feel. A large outdoor courtyard will provide the main communal eating space, and several outdoor terraces offer a place to relax in the sun or the shade. Situated at the heart of the complex, the swimming pool acts like a colourful meeting point – with the blue water combining with the green olive trees and the red soil. The yoga shala is being rebuilt to provide a wonderful, light filled space with stunning views overlooking the valley.

27th April - arrivals from 4pm with a welcome practice and introductions 5.30-7.00pm followed by a delicious dinner.
28th April - 3rd May
730am - fruit and chai
8-10am - morning yoga workshop
10am onwards - brunch and free time
2pm - light afternoon snack available for those at the retreat centre
5-630pm - restorative yoga and meditation
7pm onwards dinner.
8-9.30am - final morning yoga practice
9.30am onwards - breakfast and departures
YogApulia is located in the countryside, surrounded by vineyards and ancient olive groves. Nearby are the historical towns of Cisternino, Ostuni, Martina Franca, Locorotondo and Alberobello all within 10 to 20 minutes drive. Beaches are around 20 minutes drive. The international airport at Brindisi is approx a 40 minute drive away and Bari is further to the north approx 55 minute drive. Both airports have a good selection of international flights.
Shira trained in Vinyasa Flow with Claire Missingham and her classes remain rooted in this powerful system that synchronises breath to movement. The practice is strong, but the pace is manageable so you will mindfully and sustainably nudge your comfort zone. She draws on the rich world of yoga philosophy and is inspired by Buddhist psychology; so although you are likely to get a bit sweaty, yoga’s physical aspect is not experienced in isolation.
Hands-on assists are an integral part of her classes and will help you access deeper forms of each pose. Pranayama (breath), mantra and mudra (hand gestures) are woven into the asanas (poses), so at the end, after savasana (relaxation) you will feel renewed and awakened.
Shira’s background is in producing dance and theatre. What she aims to create in her classes is what she looks for in a piece of choreography; sequences designed to take you on a complete journey, leaving you feeling sthira (steady and stable) and sukham (light and ease-filled).
